Austin City Limits Festival 2013
If you haven’t seen the Austin City Limits lineup, you should really check it out.
Austin City Limits Festival is one of the bestest events in the world. I look forward to it every year. At the end of the festival, I go through a blue period where I miss seeing badass music everyday, then I move on and count down the days for next years.

The lineup this year is incredible. Depeche Mode, Muse, The Cure, Atoms for Peace…. the list goes on. The biggest fear is now the actual schedule. Who is going to play when, and more importantly, where.

If you have never been to a festival before, you should totally go. Of the different music festivals I have been to, ACL is the most laidback festival I have ever been to. Everyone that works for the festival is super nice and helpful. They give away free water. The food options are all of Austin’s local favorite places (I recommend getting a burrito).

So here is a list of “must haves” if you are thinking about going but have no idea what to bring:
- Backpack
- A pair of good running shoes (or shoes you can walk in) and also a pair of flip flops.
- A extra pair of socks.
- Towel(s)
- 3 Water bottles that are water tight. I recommend filling them up with water the night before, and then throw them in a freezer.
- Sunblock.
- Hat.
- Aspirin and allergy medicine. Austin is a allergy hell mouth.

I cannot wait for ACL this year. I have no idea how the schedule is going to work out..but…..MUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSEEEEE!!!!!!!!

I will be running a table top game, like, a real one
So I have all this extra spare time now! So awesome.
My creative juices are flowing again and I’ve started to write “for the hell of it” again. I haven’t produced this much content, for fun, in a very long time. For the past year I have been focusing on playing or running one shot games. For those of you not familiar with table top games, a one shot game is basically a game that only happens once. They are easy to put together and run, mostly due to the lack of commitment. With game that is a on going series, I tend to put a lot more thought into the long term, rather than focus on a single game session. It has been fun, and interesting to experiment with different genres and styles. It was great while I had limited time, but now I am ready for more!
So the game I have my heart set on, after much soul searching, is going to be Mage: The Ascension. It was my last extended game that I ran, though it wasn’t the most successful game, but it’s my favorite game and the one that invites the most creativity from me (and hopefully for those people who want to play).
I am super excited! I will have more posts on this topic later.
Spring time!!!
The Impossible Has Happened – Damon and Noel play together
Holy Wowness!! Check this Article out:

In the mid 1990s I was a HUGE Brit-pop/Brit-Music fan. I loved everything from Kula Shaker, Mansun, The Verve, Primal Scream, SuperGrass, Pulp….I could keep going.
Oasis and Blur were my gateway into the genre of music. I remember sitting in the car with my Grandmother on the way to a swim meet hearing Oasis’s “Live Forever,” and it became an anthem for that whole year.
Then I heard Blur’s ‘The Great Escape‘ and my mind was blown. I still go back to the album every now and then and listen to the whole thing. Then Oasis released ‘What’s The Story (Morning Glory)’ and I basically had a Oasis/Blur addiction until I learned more about the UK music that was happening at the time.
(Oh and Damon Albarn was my high school crush).
During this time, Blur and Oasis were in some sort of media feud. Since they were the biggest bands, the media felt the need to pit them against each other. I’m sure members of the band said stuff about each other in the press, but I’m not 100% on that.
Still, it blows my mind to see Noel and Damon playing together. That is too cool.

Paul Krugman's 'The Ignorance Caucus'
Paul Krugman’s ‘The Ignorance Caucus’
I only try to post articles like this when they are really good. This is a really great article about Paul Krugman’s take on the modern day GOP. I love how the Texas GOP gets honorable mention. 😛
Can the new Queens of the Stone Age album come out already?
I have been a huge fan of the Queens of the Stone Age albums for a long time, but the news that has been rolling out about who is working on the new album has been blowing me away. I just read this article on nme.com announcing that Elton John is gonna be on the new album. OMG!
I never imagined a album would bring together Elton John, Trent Reznor, Dave Ghrohl, and Jake Shears! This album is going to be sick!
