Discovered Gabriel Garzón-Montano
I was listening to NPR Music today and heard a song called ‘The Game’ by Gabriel Garzón-Montano, and instantly loved it. Here is the song:
He has quite the biography! I can’t believe I haven’t heard his music until today. Drake sampled his music in one of his songs, and he had opened for acts like Lenny Kravitz. You can see his soundcloud page here.
Listening to his album now, it’s pretty good!
Also he seems to be pretty awesome live! Here is a live version of ‘Keep on Running.’
NMEs top 100 best albums list
Currently trying to work through NME’s top 100 best albums list here.
Lots to go through. Some of their selections kinda had me confused, but that’s okay.
I’m keeping an open mind, but it’s hard to see an album I could love more than Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool. I love that album so much. If you haven’t heard it yet, and you like Radiohead, you should totally listen to it.
They also made an awesome video for the song ‘Daydreaming’.
Present Tense by Radiohead in 2009
The song ‘Present Tense’ from Radiohead is one of my favorite songs on their latest album, but the song its actually a couple years old. Here is a version of Present Tense from 2009 at the Latitude Festival. Cool stuff!
Spotify and their pride playlists
So at first I was feeling like Spotify was taking advantage of the orlando shooting thing because of all of their new Gay Pride playlists, though a friend of mine said they had some of them before the tragedy happened.
So I took a look at their playlists and…well…I love them. So, yeah, stereotypes are real.

New Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dark Necessities
The video for the new Red Hot Chili Peppers song came out today! I couldn’t find a video on youtube, but the video is posted in this NME article.
I love the song and I cannot wait for the new album. Sounds like Red Hot Chili Peppers are going for a sound with more layers, but some classic funk style. I love it.

I liked this brief interview NME did with the band. I know the area in LA where they recorded some of the demos for the album, and it is very pretty. See?
I cannot wait for their new album! I loved their last one, but their first album is still my favorite.
